My understanding of love is that it is neither conditional, nor unconditional. It is simply a pure energy that flows throughout the universe and through us when we are able to attune ourselves to its truth.
Once it is flowing into and through us much like our breath or heartbeat, there is nothing more that is needed for us to do or to think regarding it. Our bodies are simply the containers or antennas which receive and share this energy without fear that it will run out or dissipate. The universe is the conductor and we are the receivers that broadcasts this love signal. However, when our containers are misaligned by the carbon state, all that can be picked up and broadcast is static or bits of this truth.

Regarding the term "everything in moderation," this was coined by the poison foods, tobacco & beverage industries to convince the masses that the best way to have a good time is to poison themselves on occasion. This is obviously counter to our best interests and is indeed a lie. How many times have we heard people who do a 10 day fast or detox say that since they've been good, they will go to In N Out Burger after and just pig out? That's like taking the time and care to detail your car until it sparkles, then immediately driving it through the mud afterwards.

The clearer we become, the less we will allow these poisons into our bodies because we would recognize the consequences of supporting this lie in our bodies and environment.

Whole Foods is a great example. Much of what is sold by that mega-grocery corp is arguably not any better than foods one can get at WalMart or Costco, but with a much higher price tag. Why? Because they have enough customers believing the lie that higher prices means higher quality. Obviously, the best solution there is not to become frustrated with that reality, but to perhaps become independent of that paradigm and grow your own foods or shop at local farmers markets instead. Everything in our lives is a conscious choice that we make on our own accord whether we believe it or not. Although I believe in unconditional love, which to me means learning to love for the sake of loving itself without attachments, I agree it needs to be stated that you do need to defend yourself from the "parasites" that are out there. Too many people repeat that unconditional love mantra and forget that sometimes, you also need to make a stand for what is right if the other party has indeed been "swallowed up by the blackness" as you say. My favorite example of this dichotomy is the Shaolin Monks. On one hand, they preached love and tolerance and exemplified it in their daily lives as Buddhist monks. In the other hand, there was often a weapon they could kill you with if you got out of line. I think that is the way to go personally considering the challenges we face.

I agree with the carbon based lies/toxins list that you mention as well, though I think it is next to impossible to really be 100% efficient living this kind of lifestyle. Everything in moderation, including moderation, I think. But I would agree with you that things like aspartame, and plastics, etc...are WAY too prevalent in our modern culture, and should be avoided as much as possible. But for social reasons, as well as logistic reasons, it's awfully hard to sustain. Not to mention, sometimes I just want a Diet Coke. But I feel if people could change their diet to one of about 80% toxin free and allow a little buffer to deal with the occasional wedding cake/caffeine buzz/gotta use a plastic bottle cause there's no glass containers around scenarios, their bodies would recover in time and be able to expunge the stuff they simply can't escape due to our modern lifestyles. I don't know. Either that or Whole Foods needs to start being a Whole-Lot-Cheaper Foods.

I think you have prepared an excellent list of first steps for detox of both the mind and the body. Good job!
-RichTowering Cranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00255783532270872270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419671773197039000.post-45937740782689562212012-08-14T14:56:32.930-07:002012-08-14T14:56:32.930-07:00Good stuff Brotha Henry!
